Every custom piece is a reflection of your story, your faith, and the people or moments you hold dear. I love hearing what has shaped your life and what you wish to honor, and I translate that meaning into a piece that is uniquely yours. Each design is thoughtfully crafted to capture symbolism, beauty, and the timeless elegance of God's handiwork.
When you receive your custom jewelry, you get more than a piece of metal and stone—you receive a tangible expression of faith, a story told through craftsmanship, and a one-of-a-kind creation that carries personal significance for generations to come. These are pieces meant to be treasured, remembered, and passed down, celebrating your story and God's artistry in every detail.
Custom Jewelry FAQ
How do I Start a Custom Jewelry Inquiry
When ordering a custom design piece, please schedule an appointment through my calendar. We’ll start with a complimentary 30-minute consultation to discuss your vision and the piece you’re looking for. During this session, we’ll explore your story, who or what the piece is honoring, your budget range, general timeline, and any requested materials.
If it feels like a good fit, we can schedule a more in-depth design consultation, 60–90 minutes, either in person if possible or via Zoom. This session requires a $250 deposit, which will go toward the cost of the piece. Payment plans are available.
During the in-depth consultation, I gather:
- The emotional story and symbolism you want the piece to capture
- Memories, places, people, seasons, or passages you’re commemorating
- Your aesthetic preferences (with my guidance to bring your vision to life)
- Practical details such as metal preferences, wearability, and existing pieces you love
I am also happy to reuse or recycle old gold, gemstones, or jewelry to create a meaningful new piece.
What is your Design Process like?
Once the deposit has been made and our design consultation is complete, I begin by creating an initial sketch or concept description. In this, I explain the symbolism woven into the piece and why I’ve chosen certain elements, such as nature motifs, specific shapes, or stones, to reflect your story.
At this stage, I can also provide an estimated investment range for the piece.
You will have the opportunity for up to three design adjustments to ensure it aligns with your vision; any additional changes would incur an extra cost.
The timeline may vary depending on whether I need to source specific gemstones or materials, but I will keep you informed throughout the process to ensure a smooth and collaborative experience.
What Metals and Materials do you typically Work with?
Available metals include 14k and 18k white or yellow gold, platinum, sterling silver, rose gold, and other custom alloys to suit your vision and the design of your piece.
Are you able to Incorporate Meaningful Heirlooms and Keepsakes?
I would love to incorporate your items into the design whenever possible. Because delicate stones can be fragile, I’ll need to examine them first to ensure they can be safely included while keeping the integrity of the piece.
Are there any Projects, Materials or Techniques you typically do not do?
I focus on creating unique, one-of-a-kind pieces. I don’t recreate someone else’s design exactly, but I’m happy to draw inspiration from photos or ideas you love to understand the style and aesthetic you’re looking for. I’m open to working with a variety of materials and techniques, though I will always review delicate or unusual items first to ensure they can be safely incorporated into the design.
How Much does Custom Jewelry Cost?
Custom work takes considerably more time than mass-produced jewelry found in general retail stores, so custom pieces typically start at $1,000 and up, depending on materials, stones used, and the complexity of the design. Because of the time and craftsmanship involved, projects below this range may not be cost-effective for me to take on.
That said, I am always willing to be flexible, which is why I require an initial consultation to discuss your vision and budget. Payment plans are also available.
What Factors most affect the Final Price?
Metal prices can affect the final cost of your piece, as pricing may fluctuate based on current market rates.
Is a Deposit Required?
Yes, 50% is required upfront. This allows me to purchase stones, metals, and any necessary materials to begin your piece.
Do you accept Payment Plans?
Yes, I’m happy to offer staged payments throughout the process and can work with you on a payment plan that fits your needs.
How long does the Process usually take from Start to Finish?
The timeline depends on the piece. More detailed or intricate designs can take several weeks to complete. I will share 1–2 progress updates with photos at meaningful stages so you can see the piece coming to life.
Are there Timelines you cannot Accommodate (Rush orders, Holidays)?
I encourage customers to reach out as early as possible. Starting the process sooner allows us to determine whether there is adequate time to complete your piece, especially around holidays or for special dates. While I do my best to accommodate meaningful timelines, rush orders may not always be possible depending on the scope of the project and my current schedule.
How is the Final Piece Delivered?
The reveal is a special part of the process. I’ll present the finished piece along with the story behind the design choices and the meaning woven into the details, and I’ll also provide care instructions to help you protect your jewelry for years to come. If you’re comfortable with it, I may photograph you receiving your piece for my portfolio and future storytelling.
Do you Provide Regular Updates?
I’m always happy to communicate and share updates throughout your custom project. I prefer to use email along with scheduled check-ins so we both stay clear on progress and next steps. Once the final design is approved and fabrication has begun, the design is considered locked in. Changes may still be possible depending on the stage of the project, but adjustments at that point may affect both the timeline and overall cost.
Update frequency will vary based on the complexity of the design and the projected timeframe, and this will be outlined during the final design consultation. In general, you can expect updates anywhere from weekly to every couple of weeks at meaningful stages of progress. I truly value your input and want you to feel involved in the process, while also setting clear boundaries so the project stays on track and within budget.
Do you offer Resizing, Adjustments, or Repairs?
Yes
